Cuba Tech Program
By providing financial donations, you are helping us purchase certified refurbished laptops, repair donated laptops, and maintain a spare parts program. Additionally, we provide water-proof backpacks and other essential accessories for our staff end users. Your gift will also help support the monthly salary of a technician in Cuba. Every element (laptop, accessories, and support) is important to helping our technology program run smoothly for 200 as we strive to provide our leaders with reliable technology for their ministry.
Computers play a vital role in the lives of our staff, pastors, leaders, and seminary professors as they prepare lessons and sermons, communicate, document ministry activity, and do daily work tasks. However, cost, scarcity of hardware, heat and humidity make obtaining and maintaining computer equipment very challenging in Cuba. To address this issue, we have created a new technology program here in the US to source, update, and replace batteries and hard drives on donated laptops with appropriate specifications. Refurbished laptops are placed in waterproof backpacks with a power adapter, surge suppressor, and new mouse, ready for transport down to our ministry network in Cuba.
When delivered by a mission team, a paid Cuban ministry tech will accept, document, distribute, test and maintain all the equipment we bring in. We’ll work as one team to keep systems in good working order or replace unrepairable systems as needed.
